1st genius, Vehuiah, והויה. His attribute is interpreted (God elevated and exalted above all things). He rules over the Hebrews. The name of God, according to this language, is called Jehovah. He governs the first ray of the Orient in the season of spring, that is to say the first five degrees of the sphere which begin on the 20th of March at midnight until the 24th, inclusively, corresponding to the first decade of the sacred calendar, and to the first genius, named Chontaré, under the influence of Mars: this genius, and those that follow, up to the 8th, belong to the first order of angels which the orthodox call the choir of the Seraphim. He dwells in the region of fire; his sign is the Ram, and he presides over the following five days: the 20th of March, the 31st of April, the 11th of August, the 22nd of October and the 2nd of January; the invocation is made facing the Orient, from midnight precisely until twenty minutes past midnight, to obtain enlightenment. It is by the virtue of these divine names that one becomes illuminated by the spirit of God; they must be pronounced at midnight precisely until twenty minutes past midnight, reciting the third verse of the 3rd psalm (Et tu Domine susceptor meus et gloria mea et exaltans caput meum). One must have one's talisman prepared according to the principles of the cabalistic art. (See on this subject chapter 8.) Il gouverne le premier rayon de l'Orient dans la saison du printemps, c'est-à-dire les cinq premiers degrés de la sphère qui commencent au 20 mars à minuit jusqu'au 24, inclusivement, correspondant à la première décade du calendrier sacré, et au premier génie, nommé Chontaré, sous l'influence de Mars : ce génie, et ceux qui suivent, jusqu'au 8e., appartiennent au premier ordre des anges que les orthodoxes appellent le chœur des séraphins.
